J. Harry Wells and Associates Advisors to Nonprofits
Harry Wells brings more than 40 years of non-profit executive leadership experience in the human services sector particularly in community-based programs for at-risk children, youth and families. As an experienced strategic planner, he has provided facilitation for several mergers of non-profit agencies and has provided governing boards with advisory and developmental services. Harry also serves as an Interim CEO for organizations that are faced with a temporary vacancy in the top leadership position.
During his lengthy career, Harry served as President and CEO of Chicago Youth Centers and as Executive Director of OMNI Youth Services where over the course of twenty-five years he led the organization’s growth strategy that resulted in a five-fold increase in services. His career also includes successful public and private resource development working closely with the Illinois Departments of Human Services, Children and Family Services and Health and Family Services as well as scores of philanthropic foundations and hundreds of individual donors. Harry has also served as the chair of the Illinois Collaboration on Youth (ICOY), the Chicago Alliance for Collaborative Effort (CACE) and the Advisory Board of the Kellogg School of Management's Center for Nonprofit Leadership.
Harry holds a B.A. from Duke University, a MSW from the University of Chicago and is a graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management's Advanced Executive Program.
