Richard Ducatenzeiler: Chief Executive Officer

Richard Ducatenzeiler

Chicago, IL — Human services leader Richard Ducatenzeiler has been selected as Chief Executive Officer of The Boulevard of Chicago, an organization that provides post-acute clinical care for individuals experiencing homelessness.

He will lead this one-of-a-kind agency that fills a critical and urgent need to care for people who have been discharged from the hospital with nowhere to go and who, otherwise, would face the streets as they attempt to heal from a serious illness or injury.

Ducatenzeiler comes to The Boulevard with more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience in human services and housing development. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of Franciscan Outreach, a leading provider of homeless services in Chicago. Previously, he was the Executive Director of North Side Housing and Supportive Services.

As a Chicago native, he is committed to serving the city’s most vulnerable residents and making an impact toward ending homelessness in Chicago. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Continuum of Care and worked on the creation of the city’s original Plan to End Homelessness in 2002.

The Boulevard (formerly known as Interfaith House) was founded in 1994 to respond to the critical need for respite care for the homeless, providing a place to heal and the opportunity to move to stable housing. The Boulevard is the only organization in Chicago, and one of few in the country, that provides a full range of respite care resources for holistic human healing for the homeless.
