Chicago, IL – The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) has appointed Iain Chester to the role of Executive Director, Innovation. Chester has served in a variety of positions at the ELCA churchwide organization over the past seven years, including working with ELCA World Hunger’s network of 2,500+ hunger leaders and most recently serving as Director for Innovation Services with the Innovation home area.

As Executive Director, Innovation, Chester will identify, share and replicate ideas and concepts for spreading the word about the Evangelical Church in America and will serve as a learning specialist and lead a learning management initiative for the denomination. He will work closely with the presiding bishop and all ELCA staff leaders to achieve ELCA’s goal of engaging with one million new people.
