Chicago, IL – Tina Boyer Brown has been promoted to Executive Director of The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts). She brings to this position a passion for the arts, dedication to the school and deep commitment to ChiArts scholar-artists.

Boyer Brown has served in a variety of roles at ChiArts since 2009. She is the Founding English Educator, established the Creative Writing Conservatory in 2014 and was promoted to Artistic Director in 2019 to oversee the arts conservatories.

As ChiArts Executive Director, Boyer Brown will head the school’s leadership team, overseeing all programs and operations and serving as the school’s chief spokesperson. She will be responsible for financial management, annual and strategic planning, board and community relations, and fostering collaboration across academic and arts programs.

Boyer Brown is an accomplished poet and her work has been published in Poetry Magazine, Jet Fuel Review, RHINO, and Waxwing Literary Magazine, among others.

The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) was created by people with deep appreciation for the arts, a steadfast commitment to Chicago youth, and the ability to imagine and build a school that would realize their vision. ChiArts offers a high-quality, rigorous, and culturally responsive arts and academic curriculum aligned with Chicago Public School (CPS) standards. The arts curriculum nurtures student creativity and develops individual artistic voice and perspective through reflective and growth-oriented coursework, performances, exhibitions and cultural experiences. Currently, ChiArts’ student body numbers 600-625 ninth through twelfth graders who travel to the school from all over the City of Chicago.
