Eric Gordon

Proven leader Eric Gordon has been selected as Chief Executive Officer of Positive Education Program, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to supporting children with complex developmental trauma, mental health challenges, and autism. Eeric brings more than 25 years of experience in the fields of education leadership, equity-centered student development, and social-emotional learning.
Eric Gordon comes to PEP from Cuyahoga Community College, an institution focused on accessible, high-quality postsecondary education and workforce development. During his tenure as Senior Vice President of Student Development and Education Pipeline, he strengthened educational pathways from early childhood through college and led initiatives to improve student persistence and success.
Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, where he led systemic reform efforts for more than 35,000 students. Under his leadership, the district achieved historic graduation rate gains and received national recognition for urban school improvement. Prior to that, he served as a K–12 public education system focused on academic excellence and equity through roles including math teacher, principal, and chief academic officer.
Eric Gordon is deeply involved in community and national education efforts and has received numerous honors recognizing his leadership in equity and social-emotional learning. His work continues to center on improving outcomes for students and families through collaboration, innovation, and whole-child approaches.
Founded in 1971, Positive Education Program is a Cleveland-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children and adolescents with complex mental health needs, autism, and developmental trauma succeed in school, at home, and in the community. Through evidence-based education, clinical services, and family support, PEP partners with schools and systems to create pathways to stability, growth, and lifelong success for young people and their families.
