Elizabeth Pfifer

Nonprofit leader Elizabeth R. Pfifer has been appointed President and CEO of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, a leading hunger relief organization serving families across South Louisiana. Pfifer brings more than 20 years of global nonprofit leadership, workforce development, and fundraising success.
Pfifer joins the Food Bank from Catholic Relief Services (CRS), a global humanitarian agency. Most recently, she directed workforce and leadership development for 6,200 employees, advising executives and boards on organizational design and succession planning. She also launched programs that strengthened staff engagement, retention, and diverse representation in leadership.
Previously, Pfifer served as Country Representative for CRS in Cambodia and Vietnam, overseeing a $30M portfolio and 400+ staff. She surpassed fundraising targets, secured partnerships with the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, and guided operations through the COVID 19 pandemic. In Uganda, she managed $25M annually, secured $90M in new funding, and directed emergency operations in one of the world’s largest refugee settlements.
Pfifer is deeply engaged in Baton Rouge, serving on the Tiger Aquatics Board and volunteering with the National Charity League – River Road Chapter, American Red Cross, Volunteers of America, and Girl Scouts of America.
