Kaitlyn Slate: President & Chief Executive Officer
Chicago, IL – Kaitlyn Slate has been selected as President & CEO of Growing Hope Globally. In this position, she will provide leadership to build on Growing Hope Globally’s efforts to grow lasting solutions to hunger in developing countries.
Slate brings to this role a passion for working with others to overcome material poverty. Being born to missionary parents in Nigeria inspired her commitment to international development and a connection to farming that has deep roots, with both of her parents growing up on family farms.
Most recently, she served as Director of Program Excellence at World Renew, an international organization working to transform communities around the world to address poverty and create sustainable progress in food security, economic livelihoods and community health. Previously, she was Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Armstrong State University (now Georgia Southern University) in Savannah.
As a Christian response to hunger, Growing Hope Globally links the grassroots energy and commitment of rural communities in the US with the capability and desire of smallholder farmers in developing countries to grow lasting solutions to hunger. The organization has grown into a network of community Growing Projects in more than 20 states. Together, they have served more than 2 million people.
