Vince Duran: Executive Director
HOCKLEY, TX – Boys and Girls Country, a comprehensive residential care program for children from families in crisis, has announced the appointment of Vincent G. Duran as Executive Director. Duran brings over 15 years of experience in residential programs and nine years as a minister and chaplain to his new position.
Duran comes to Boys and Girls Country from Arms of Hope-Boles Children’s Home where as Executive Director he led a team that completed three capital projects in three years and increased the residential census by 27 percent in two years at this organization that assists disadvantaged children and single-mother families.
Prior to Arms of Hope, Duran was Director of the Family Resource Center at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch where he created and developed Family Resource Centers in Houston and San Antonio to provide a continuum of care for 300 children in residential programs, and strategically implemented Fatherhood Initiative Programs in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.
He has also served as Clinical Chaplain for the New Mexico Department of Corrections with responsibility for the chapel program and spiritual services for over 1400 inmates, and as a Counseling Supervisor for the U.S. Department of Labor, Albuquerque Job Corps, where he supervised the counseling and case management program for 415 at-risk students. Earlier in his career, Duran was a Youth Minister at Christian Life Center in Amarillo where he provided spiritual leadership as pastor for ages 12 to 18.
Duran received a Master of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University and a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, where he is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity.
He began his duties at Boys and Girls Country on May 1, 2017.
