Evanston, IL – Richard “Dick” Malone has been selected as Executive Director of Center for Independent Futures, an organization committed to ensuring the best possible futures for individuals with disabilities.

Malone joins Center for Independent Futures after 11 years at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, where he was President and CEO and directed a $90 million annual budget and $100 million in capital investments for 65 locations. He also has experience in publishing and digital media as a senior executive at Tribune Publishing and the Chicago Tribune including Senior Vice President of Local Market Operations at Tribune Interactive and Senior Vice President and General Manager at the Chicago Tribune.

He is active in the Chicago area community including as a member of the National Louis University Board of Trustees, the Bishop Arthur M. Brazier Foundation Board of Trustees, and as a Life Trustee of HAVE Dreams.

Center for Independent Futures (CIF) is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities live full and more independent lives. CIF creates sustainable solutions through individual support, school and agency support, and housing and community living options. It relies on an individual’s hopes and dreams to guide supports – not the other way around. CIF’s Direct Service team helps them achieve their goals by providing direct services to nearly 100 individuals in the greater Evanston area. CIF also offers national consulting services focused on person-centered practices to nonprofit agencies, schools and parent groups.
