Michele Suchovsky: CEO

Paws With A Cause®, an organization that enhances the independence and quality of life for people with disabilities through custom-trained Assistance Dogs, has selected Michele Suchovsky to serve as Chief Executive Officer.

An experienced nonprofit leader, Suchovsky has served for 15 years as executive director of two nonprofits, an arts and disability organization and an education foundation. In these roles, she helped to grow both organizations into thriving nonprofit agencies impacting the lives of children and adults throughout West Michigan. She most recently served as Executive Director of the Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation (GRSAF), a strategic fundraising partner of the Grand Rapids Public Schools that advances education opportunities for all students in the district.

Prior to her career in nonprofit management, Suchovsky served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable George R. Corsiglia in Allegan County and as an Associate Attorney at Straub, Seaman & Allen. She received a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School and a B.A. from The University of Michigan. In March of 2018, Suchovsky was named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan by the Grand Rapids Business Journal.

She assumed her responsibilities as CEO of PAWS With A Cause on November 12, 2018.

Paws With A Cause® enhances the independence and quality of life for people with disabilities through custom-trained Assistance Dogs, while increasing awareness of the rights and roles of Assistance Dogs through education and advocacy. Since its founding in 1979, PAWS has placed more than 2,800 assistance dogs and currently has 450 clients throughout 35 states.
