Indianapolis, IN – Lora Hoover has been named President & CEO of Girls Inc. Indy, an agency that serves girls 6-18 in the Indianapolis area. With more than 20 years of experience in global philanthropy and nonprofit management, Hoover is a strong advocate for the challenges facing women and girls in the Indianapolis community and around the world. She has dedicated her career to nonprofit management, fundraising and program implementation in youth-serving organizations both locally and globally.

Previously, she was Director of Development at the Kiwanis Children’s Fund where she developed and activated comprehensive fundraising and grantmaking strategies. While at Kiwanis International, in partnership with UNICEF, Hoover successfully led and completed a global fundraising campaign to support efforts to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus, as well as developed and implemented a multi-year sustainability and revenue growth plan for the Kiwanis Children’s Fund.

Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis (Girls Inc. Indy) provides programming for girls in two facility locations in the Indianapolis area and serves 2,500 participants annually. It inspires girls to be strong, smart and bold by delivering engaging and empowering programs to girls in outreach locations. Girls can find programs, which are delivered by trained volunteer facilitators, at schools, youth organizations and other community centers throughout greater Indianapolis. The program curriculum focuses on issues that all girls face such as conflict management, college and career planning, and body image.
