Cicero, IL – Disabilities advocate Joseph “Joe” Mengoni has been announced as President and CEO of United Cerebral Palsy Seguin of Greater Chicago. Mengoni brings to this role a unique blend of experience, expertise and passion for UCP Seguin’s mission and commitment to people with disabilities, and a capacity to connect with families, external stakeholders and supporters.
Since he joined UCP Seguin in 1987, Mengoni has assumed progressively greater levels of responsibility, with most of his tenure in top management positions. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Programs, providing oversight of UCP Seguin’s array of innovative Adult Services and Children’s Services.
He has been instrumental in the significant growth of UCP Seguin’s ability to meet community needs, especially the major expansion of residential services that has created places to call home for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago believes that all people, regardless of ability, deserve to achieve their potential, advance their independence, and act as full members of the community. It provides life skills training, assistive technology, meaningful employment, and a place to call home for people with disabilities. By offering residential services in multiple small, community-based homes, it ensures that adults with disabilities can live and socialize within their communities and supports their physical and mental well-being and vocational needs with training centers across the Greater Chicago area. It also gives a home to children and adolescents, with nurturing foster care from birth through 21 years of age, including specialized care for children with behavioral or medical challenges.
