Jennifer Chittenden: Director of Membership
Des Moines, IA – Jennifer Chittenden has been appointed Director of Membership for the International Chapter of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) Sisterhood.
Most recently, Chittenden served as Executive Director of the Des Moines Downtown Chamber of Commerce. During her tenure, she quadrupled the Chamber’s membership, built an impactful advocacy agenda, and developed award-winning programs, including the Leadership Education and Advancement Pipeline, which inspires women to take risks and put faith in their entrepreneurial spirit. Known as an industry model, this program was instrumental in leading the Chamber to national recognition when it received the ACCE Chamber of the Year award, the highest honor in the industry.
Chittenden is also the Past President of the Rotary Club of Des Moines A.M. and has previously served as Executive Director of the Des Moines West Side Chamber of Commerce.
One of the largest nonsectarian, community-based organizations with nearly 6,000 chapters and almost a quarter of a million members, the International Chapter of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) Sisterhood has brought together over its history more than a half a million women in the U.S. and Canada who are passionate about helping women advance through education, while supporting and motivating them.
