Farzin Parang: Executive Director

Chicago, IL – The Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago (BOMA/Chicago), the trade association representing the interests of the commercial real estate industry in Chicago, has selected Farzin Parang as Executive Director.

Parang brings a wealth of experience working for the City of Chicago, having served in the Office of the Mayor in the administrations of Richard M. Daley and Rahm Emanuel. He led Mayor Emanuel’s legislative operations team and later served as Chief of Staff to the Mayor’s Economic Council, where he developed and led partnerships to promote business recruitment and growth, expand neighborhood economic development, and overcome regulatory barriers to investment. After his service with the City, Parang was appointed to the board of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, and then to chair the City’s Zoning Board of Appeals.

Most recently, Parang served as the Strategic Partnerships Lead and Senior Legal Director at Cohesion, a real estate technology start-up, where he cultivated relationships to help building owners and managers implement smart technology. He began his career as an associate attorney in the corporate finance group of Dykema Gossett PLLC in Chicago.

BOMA/Chicago represents the interests of one of Chicago’s greatest assets – its vibrant and dynamic office buildings. As the premier trade association serving the people and companies that own, operate, manage and service Chicago’s commercial buildings, BOMA/Chicago also supports the businesses housed in these downtown buildings that require quality office space and quality service.
