Celebrating its 45th anniversary last year, CJE SeniorLife is recognized nationally as a comprehensive and innovative provider of residential living and community-based programs for older adults. As an affiliated agency of the Jewish Federation, CJE SeniorLife serves over 20,000 older adults and family members annually from Downtown Chicago to the North/Northwest suburbs.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO is accountable for the overall strategic and operational aspects of the organization including responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of all programs and services. We seek a leader who has a passion for, commitment to and knowledge of social and health services for older adults as demonstrated by a professional and personal dedication to providing leading-edge programs and resources.

A background working within a large, multi-layered organizational structure in which multiple planning and decision-making exists would be a plus. Fundraising success and/or generating capital from major donors and/or investors for programs or projects must be demonstrated. Experience working with active governing boards who are responsible for setting policies and working closely with senior leadership is important. Prior executive management experience in an organization with a union environment is highly desirable.

The person we seek will possess a high level of financial and business management acumen along with solid personal services industry knowledge, preferably attained in a complex organization supported by multiple governmental funding streams including Medicaid and Medicare. Experience in eldercare/healthcare is a plus, but strong consideration will be given to other relevant leadership experience. Experience with a mission-driven organization is preferred but not required. The qualified candidate will have strong ties to, and understanding of, the Jewish community.

A master’s degree or higher in a relevant field is highly desirable. Evidence of continuing education in such areas as leadership, management, marketing and fundraising would be a plus. Participation in professional development activities in relevant industry associations, societies and commissions is expected.
